About Linzie

From covering the news to helping you uncover what holds you back.

My story

My whole life I have been curious about people and their stories. In my first career, I worked for more than 15 years as a producer, correspondent, and anchor for CNN, Bloomberg and ABC News. From my bases in London and New York, I traveled the world and got to experience first hand, the beauty and universality of the human spirit. It’s part of what inspired me to become a psychotherapist.

I earned my MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and interned at Southern California Counseling Center where I gained experience working with a diverse group of clients facing challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD, childhood trauma, life transitions, and relationship issues.

My approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory and the latest neuroscience and understanding of trauma. I integrate somatic, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed therapy, Depth Psychology, Gestalt, and Buddhist meditation.

I have additional training in EMDR and the Community Resource Model (CRM) for trauma processing. I am affiliated with the Los Angeles Institute & Society for Psychoanalytic Studies (LAISPS) and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).

Helping people do this work is the privilege of a lifetime.

My approach

Exploration

In this process, we often discover that the stories we tell about ourselves aren’t accurate or helpful. Your strengths will guide us toward a more true and empowering perspective on your life.

Mind-Body-Soul

In our sessions, we won’t just talk. We’ll work together to cultivate awareness and deepen the connections between your mind, body, and soul and help you access the wisdom of your entire being.

Self Compassion

EMDR, IFS-informed, and somatic-focused modalities help us process traumatic experiences, in part by increasing our capacity to turn toward the vulnerable parts of ourselves and heal them with self compassion.

Let’s talk about working together.
